PlanetWard LLC ("we," "our," "us") develops and publishes the following Android apps (together, "the apps"):
This policy explains what data the apps use, what is sent over the network and to whom, what stays on your device, and how we treat it. The apps are designed to work with the minimum data necessary: no user accounts, no advertisements, no analytics, and no tracking.
The apps collect no personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. The apps contain no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
The only data the apps need is a geographic location, used to calculate sunrise, sunset, and the planetary hours for a place.
Planetary Time and Hours and Planetary Dial can use your device's location if you grant the location permission (precise or approximate). Granting it is optional; you can search for a city instead.
Planetary Hours Calculator never accesses your device's location. You choose a place by searching for a city or tapping the globe.
To turn a location into sunrise, sunset, timezone, and astronomical data, the apps send latitude and longitude, or the text of a city search, to the services below. Requests never include your name, an account, an advertising ID, or device identifiers. All requests use HTTPS.
Our proxy. Planetary Time and Hours reaches AstronomyAPI through a small server function we operate on Vercel, so that our AstronomyAPI credentials never ship inside the app. The proxy forwards your coordinates and the date to AstronomyAPI and returns the result; it does not store them. Like any web host, Vercel may keep standard request logs (which can include your IP address and the request address, including the coordinates) for a limited period for operations and security.
Each service receives the network information any web request carries, such as your IP address, and handles it under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or combine that information.
If you search for a city instead of granting location access, only the search text is sent to resolve it to coordinates, and your device's GPS is not used.
Everything else lives only in the app's storage on your device and is never uploaded or synced:
Uninstalling an app removes its stored data. You can also clear app data at any time in your device's Settings → Apps menu. Images you save from Planetary Dial are written to your device's storage and stay there until you delete them.
On the website, if you accept cookies we may store a first-party preference cookie so we can remember whether you last chose See The Planets or Read The Time. That cookie is optional. If you decline, we do not set it.
Planetary Sigils works entirely offline. It has no internet permission, does not use your location, and contacts none of the services listed above. It collects nothing and transmits nothing.
The sigils you create, their notes, and your journal entries are stored only in the app's storage on your device. They are never uploaded, synced, or sent to us.
A sigil image leaves the app only when you share it yourself through your device's share sheet, and you choose where it goes. To hand the image over, the app writes a temporary copy to its private cache and removes it later. Your notes and journal are never included in shared images.
The website and privacy policy links on the app's About screen open in your device's browser; the app itself makes no network requests.
There are no accounts, no advertisements, and no analytics.
Each app declares only the Android permissions its features need:
Location permission is always optional; if you decline, you can choose a city manually.
Because the apps have no user accounts and we do not store your data on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. The data the apps use lives on your device and is under your control.
If you would like to request review or deletion of any data you believe is associated with you, you can reach us at the contact email below. In most cases the response will confirm there is nothing retained to delete — that is by design.
The apps are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13. The apps collect no personal information from any user.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
